Creating a Diaspora pod (app server) by installing all the repos and stuffs, do we make an account on Diaspora.com or is it just for testing purposes?

The idea of Diaspora is that all installations can communicate with each other ;)

A Pod is a new Server where others can create accounts on. An Account here would be such an Account.
Equalize a Pod with Facebook .. But there can be multiple Pods for Diaspora.

so should i need to install the pod? will that increase the chances of users getting accounts on diaspora more quick?

We should forget about collecting friends and users like a goal itself What is important is interacting with the right people what could happen around your own pod if you prefer that because let’s say you are very active about it or at any other one. Free communication and control over our activity is the only rule and means freedom to place your stuff wherever you want too. Sometimes choosing is hard but always better
