I am new to Diasopra and i have no idea how/what to do. What is a pod? How do you sign up?

Pods allow you to connect to the Diaspora network. These pods host an instance of the software. So you have to join one in order to begin connecting with others. These pods talk to one another, so you can connect with others on the same or different Diaspora pod. Here are a list of pods you can join: http://podupti.me/.
