I thought of that too and I went back and re-read the FAQ for good measure and thought that I probably shouldn’t be running on 8080 for the same reason you suggest.
So far no luck though.
My router is set like this:
forward 3000 –> 10.0.1.2:3000
forward 8080 –> 10.0.1.2:8080
My appconfig.yml is like this:
The FAQ states that Diaspora HAS to run on 80 so it may just be a limitation at this point, I can search pods outside my network but it’s very unreliable – the search results I get on diasp.org have a lot more results than the results on my pod but even there I don’t think it’s searching all pods out there.
Searching for common names from my pod doesn’t usually return users from any pod other than @.com and even then I’m not at all sure it’s returning all possible matches.
